The Guilty (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The Guilty is a 2021 American crime thriller film and a remake of the 2018 Danish film of the same name. Directed and produced by Antoine Fuqua it’s probably fair to say that the films production was far more interesting than the finished product.  That’s not to say The Guilty is bad – it’s not… it’s yet another Fuqua directed middle of the road feature that more than entertains across it’s brief run time – but knowing this was directed on almost totally on closed sets, in 11 days, at the height of the pandemic and with the director working remotely in a van is MUCH more interesting than saying ” it’s another remake”.  Other than that it’s a perfectly passable thriller – far from essential but good for that train journey to work.
