Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Whilst it may be a BIT long, the Netflix’s German/UK co-produced Blood Red Sky is an impressively gory vampire story that tries to do for hijack films what From Dusk Till Dawn did for seedy stripper bars in Mexico. Kinda. What starts off as a pretty standard ‘plane get’s hijacked film’ quickly turns into something lot darker and before long its ripped throats and blood splatter everywhere. Okay so sometimes the simple tale gets lost in it’s own weighty backstory and it could benefit from being a bit shorter but still, all this aside, it’s nice to see a film shooting for the fences and ALMOST hitting. I enjoyed this one a lot.
