Phil's Quick Capsule Review

Black Widow Week: Avengers: Endgame (2019) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
After 21 films, 12 years and a whole lot of characters, stories, directors, box office success and (a few) failures it all comes down to this.  So do the Russo Brothers and Marvel stick this landing? Oh yes. Simply put: Endgame is a triumph.  A complex film full of emotions, twists, turns, humour and endings (story endings rather than a Return of The King twenty five endings ending).  This could have easily gone wrong but rather than a chuck a load of CGI action at it approach (yes DC I’m looking at you), Endgame is story and character led and doesn’t hit the “heavy render fight” button until right at the end.  Yes it’s long and yes the internet nailed a lot of the story points but Endgame is something quite special in a world where Marvel was at risk of loose it’s shine just a little bit.

Best Bit: Getting the stones

Cinema, Stream, Avoid: Cinema

If You Liked this Try: Avengers: infinity War, Avengers: Assemble, Captain America: Winter Solider
