Scare Package (2020) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Horror comedy films are a notoriously tricky beast.  For ever Evil Dead 2 there’s a hundred Leprechaun 3’s or Redneck Zombies.  And this is doubly true for horror anthology films (Creepshow 3, ABC’s of Death).  So a horror comedy anthology has a large hill to climb.  Welcome then to Scare Package – a uneven horror comedy that is not that scary, not that funny but JUST ABOUT makes up for it by be some ridiculously OTT that you can’t help but enjoy it, even when some of the section just don’t work.  Scare Package is another Shudder original, a streamer proving to be quite the gem for horror fans – even if not everything it produces lands.  So overall Horror fans will find just enough to enjoy here even if it won’t stay with you long after the credits roll.

Best Bit: The blob

Buy, Stream, Avoid: Stream

If You Liked this Try: Creepshow, Trick ‘r Treat, Twilight Zone: The Movie
