Holes (2003) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Holes wouldn’t be a film I would have watched by choice and certainly not without a certain level of coercion from my eleven year old daughter.  But considering all the films I’ve made her watch over the past few years it was only fair.  So would I watched Holes again? Probably not but that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it – a great cast, a spirited performance by Shia LaBeouf and a quirky story made this coming of age adventure story pretty likeable , even if it is a bit long at the near two hour mark. Jon Voight and Sigourney Weaver are obviously enjoying themselves and there are a few good laughs to be had.  So far from essential but Holes could have been much worse!

Best Bit:Jon Voight is once again in a film of his own!
