A Quiet Place Part II (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
It’s often that a sequel will just try and replicate the best bits of the original, with the law of diminishing returns usually coming into play pretty quickly.  Thankfully A Quiet Place Part II takes the gripping concept of the 2018 original and flips the story to focus on Millicent Simmonds’s character of Regan, who takes centre stage alongside the always watchable (and prone to an apocalypse or two) Cillian Murphy.  As you’d expect its tense and often scary, with the cast selling every moment of the film.  The tension is palpable. As you’d also expect the sound design and direction are on point, with a script that never allow step film to outstay it’s welcome.  One of 2021’s best films so far.

Best Bit: The sound design is amazing.
