Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Those Who Wish Me Dead is an odd film. A great support cast, some stunning visuals and a few tense sequences but with a story that seems to be confused at what type of movie it’s trying to be.  Is it a thriller? A drama about loss? An action film?  A disaster film? The challange is being just one of these films would be tough… trying to do them ALL at once is impossible.  Which is why Those Who Wish Me Dead falls short of being really good, whilst still be an entertaining enough sub two hour diversion.  Biggest issue here? Lead Angelina Jolie feels miscast.  You dont believe for a second she’s a seasoned firefighter. It doesn’t spoil the film but it doesn’t help it either.  Overall another workman like effort for director Taylor Sheridan.
