The Woman In The Window (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Fancy a remake of sorts of Hitchcock’s superior Rear Window with an all star cast from British director Joe Wright? Yeah me neither but here it is, arriving direct to Netflix.   To be fair the film stars Amy Adams who is always watchable no matter how shoulder shrugging the film turns out to be and, once again, that is true here.  But the rest of the cast including Mackie, Oldman, Jason Leigh and Moore are wasted in what amount to extended cameos.  The stand out here is the twitchy Wyatt Russell who is quickly establishing himself as an actor to watch. Apart from that the final twist is obvious, the film moves from one unbelievable narrative moment to another and, by the end, you are wishing that you watched Rear Window instead. So could have been worse for sure (imagine this was a Z list cast) but as far from essential as you are going to get.

Best Bit:Russell is good
