Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983) – A Rewatched Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
When you think 80’s Sci films you, naturally think Return Of The Jedi.  Or Flash Gordon. Or Wrath of Khan.  You probably don’t think Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.  Which is a mistake as it’s a bloody good film. Okay so it’s very much of its time and (limited) budget but this space rescue film has a lot going for it – from Peter Strauss grizzled Han Solo like hero to Molly Ringwald’s  spunky side kick… everyone is giving it their all.  The fact that the film has an early Michale Ironside appliance makes it even better.  So if you liked films like Krull  and Return of The Jedi there’s a chance you may just like Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone.  Maybe.

Best Bit: Ironside!

Worth A Rewatch: For sure.  Or a watch if you one of the many who’ve never seen it!

If You Liked this Try: Flash Gordon, Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, Star Trek 2 The Wrath Of Khan, Krull
