Snowpiercer (Season 2) – A Quick Capsule TV Review – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The first season of Snowpiercer was a reasonably entertaining background watch but, with it’s Babylon 5 quality CGI and familiar retread of the original (and vastly superior) Bong Joon-ho film, it was far from essential.  Season 2 however is a marked step up, benefiting greatly from the presence of Sean Bean as Mr Wilford( the shows new big bad) who proves to be the perfect foil for both Jennifer Connelly’s Melanie Cavill and Daveed Diggs Andre Layton.  Okay so the CGI hasn’t improved, the plots frequently border on insanity and characters change allegiances as often as I drink a cup of coffee BUT the show is silly fun, with some great action and enough memorable characters to make you care.  Still not essential but not everything has to be!

Best Bit: Sean Bean at his moustache twirling best
