Seaspiracy (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Seaspiracy is pretty shocking. To be fair any film that shows graphic images of animal death (both directly and indirectly at human hands) is never going to be an easy watch. But beyond that it’s message – how the fishing industry is decimating the oceans and putting lives across the globe at risk- leaves you with a pretty unpleasant feeling about your own impact on the environment.  It’s powerful stuff, even if it’s format at times seems almost parody (sneaking around corners! Spy cameras! ).  Digging deeper into the research and statistics is key (as with previous outing Cowspiracy) as the filmmakers often take liberal interpretations but regardless there’s enough here to leave you unsettled.

Best Bit: Not ‘best’ but the whale culling is powerful stuff
