Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Netflix’s relentless march to dominate the true crime genre continues with its latest limited series, this time taking a look at the story of Richard Ramirez, aka The Night Stalker and the race to stop his rein of terror in 80’s LA. The first thing to note here is that this is not a documentary for the faint of heart… from gruesome descriptions of Ramirez’s crime to graphic crime scene photos, this is a no holds barred retelling of a brutal series of assaults, rapes and murders. And as is typical with Netflix it’s probably an episode too long (even at a brief four episode run) but overall its well made, captivating and benefits from some great use of news footage and interviews with those involved.
Best Bit: It’s a really detailed examination of the story
