The Lie (2020) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Part of Amazon prime’s Welcome To The Blumhouse season, The Lie is, for me, the third major Blumhouse disappointment in 2020 (See Fantasy Island & You Should Have Left). Okay so it’s not terrible – the films compliantly made and the acting is good (as you would expect from the cast) but it just feels like a 45 minute Twilight Zone episode stretched out to a 90 minute run time, with a super obvious twist that ultimately makes no sense. The Lie just drags it’s heels until it finally arrives at the predicable final destination.

Best Bit: The car

Buy, Stream, Avoid: Avoid

If You Liked this Try: Fantasy Island, The Hunt, Get Out
