Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Gretel and Hansel is a creepy, tense, cinematic horror that takes more than a page or two from 2015’s The Witch and reinvents the Grimms’ Fairy Tales for a more mature generation. With striking production design and solid direction Gretel and Hansel really is a feast for the eyes. Sophia Lillis once again stands out, having really cornered the market for female teenagers in horror films of late and director Oz Perkins shows they are bound for bigger things. Not perfect but really worth a watch.
Best Bit: Sophia Lillis shines once again
