Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
It’s far to say that I pretty much loathed Independence Day on the first watch back in 1996 (I think I gave it a 4/10) and for many it remains either one of the best or worst films ever made.  For it’s day it certainly felt like a case of marketing over product but in hindsight, and watching the film back after several years, it’s fair to say that it has a charm and watchability that just doesn’t go away.   Independence Day is a grower for sure and watching it again (probably for the 5th or 6th time) it honestly gets better every time.

Best Bit: The final Assault

Worth A Rewatch: Yes.  It holds up well all things considered.
