Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The sequel to 2017’s hugely successful Jumanji : Welcome To The Jungle does knows what it needs to do and does just that, little more and certainly no less.  That’s not a bad thing as such as this is an enjoyable formula with an entertaining team but for sure as much as I enjoyed The Next Level there was a degree of the law of diminishing returns at play here.  The film hits most of the same beats, similar jokes and pathos of the 2017 film, whilst throwing in some bigger, sillier and more over the top set pieces as is par for the course for modern sequels.  Karen Gilliam is the standout here, and it’s great to see two legends back on the big screen.

Best Bit: The Bridges

Cinema, Stream, Avoid: Cinema

If You Liked this Try: Jumanji : Welcome To The Jungle, Jumanji, Zathura
