Press Release

The hottest brand in sports-entertainment comes to DVD and Blu-ray for the first time! NXT is the future of WWE, featuring incredible action from some of the most exciting young athletes in the world. This collection brings together the best matches from NXT’s weekly show and live specials. Includes Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Paige, Sasha Banks, Finn Bálor, Samoa Joe, Big E and Sami Zayn.

So the keenly awaited first NXT release comes to our screens. Just over seven hours of content to view here, all well thought out and executed.

The most enjoyable parts of this release is the documentary sections where HHH, and the other superstars discuss the the upcoming matches and also the NXT journey, from the start where it replaced FCW, the diva revolution, right up to the pleasing fact that every match on show at Wrestle-mania last year had a former NXT member in it, with the exception of HHH vs Sting.

Another key point discussed was how NXT went on to the WWE Network, and launched its first live event. What I will say is that for me there is not enough of these segments. A far amount of the content is match based and as great as these are, and they are, I would have preferred a deeper and longer behind the scenes look at everything NXT, this said there is really good coverage on how NXT has grown over the last three years, and a key section is the NXT women and how they went on to change how female wrestlers are perceived, and treated through out WWE, which I think is massively important to young women, and as a father of three girls, I believe that these role models are so important. So a thank you goes out to Bailey, Becky, Shasa and Charlotte (Four Horsewoman) for your outstanding work.

The matches selected are all high quality and enjoyable, there are matches for everyone, whatever floats your boat, great women’s matches, title matches and so on. The blu-ray release even gives you the Fatal Four way divas match from NXT Takeover.
It’s difficult to select a favourite, but Finn Balor vs Kevin Owens in Japan, and Sasha vs Bailey, just take the top two slots.

There is a really nice tribute to the late great Dusty Rhodes, where many a superstar discusses what the American Dream means to them, and how he shaped/created the characters they portray on TV today.

This is by far one of the best releases in the last 12 months from WWE, it’s a must for everyone and really highlights why NXT is so red hot and the favored brand for most WWE fans.
Just go out and buy yourself this collection, It doesn’t disappoint.

On DVD & Blu-Ray from Monday 14th March 2016.

I am a keen movie fan and have been as long as I can remember. I enjoy visits to the cinema around work and family life, I do find though that most of the movies I watch are Blu-Rays at home.

I am a keen TV series watcher when the series grabs me, I have seen all the I guess big well known series. In addition to this since I was a boy have enjoyed wrestling, in the main WWE, however TNA and also the mixed martial arts of MMA appeal to. You will see most of my reviews are WWE based.
