Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Eat Locals is a witty, fun British Vampire comedy that suffers a little bit by it’s lack of budget but manages to squeeze in just enough to be an enable, if forgettable romp.  Directed by Lock Stock’s Jason Flemyng and starring a host of familiar British actors, it’s a quick romp that never hangs about to let you get bored.  Sure it breaks zero new ground BUT that’s not always a massive issue if what you have is fun, as it is here.  Not for everyone but those fans of Horror comedies will get enough out of it…

Best Bit: Dexter Fletcher is hysterical

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Horror comedy is a tough gig to pull off and post scream self referential horror comedy even more so. Enter The Final Girls – a great idea that’s just not quite as cleverly produced as the filmmakers think it is.  That said there is LOADS to like here and when it works (which to be fair is quite often) it’s great fun.  BUT like most horror comedies the bit it fails on is the horror – it’s just not clever enough.

Best Bit: Back in time!

FILM OF THE YEAR: Hugo
In Brief: Magical children’s fantasy film by a director who has never been anything less than brilliant.  A top notch cast, a heart-warming message and the best use of 3D yet makes for one of the best children’s films for an age.
2. Senna
In Brief: Powerful, well made documentary that gives you a glimpse into the world of motorsport at the highest end and the celebration and tragedy that goes alongside with it.
3. True Grit
In Brief: Or how you remake a classic and pretty much make it better that the original in every way.

4. Girl With A Dragon Tattoo
In Brief: Blockbuster remake of the year.  Fincher doesn’t do bad films often and GWADT is no exception.  A brilliant, brilliant film that  has been criminally overlooked for the kudos it deserves.
5. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
In Brief: Best MI film yet (well maybe tied with MI3), Cruise delivers a top notch performance wowing with his own stunt work in a well made, expertly directed action film.
