Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Finally a Judd Apatow project (at least as a producer) that doesn’t fall into the usual trappings of mumblecore dialogue and over long run times. Written by and starring Kumail Nanjiani, The Big Sick is actually charming, funny, heart breaking and sweet. Based on his own real life experiences, the authenticity seeps through the film and gives you a cat of characters you fall in love with.
