Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Finally a Judd Apatow project (at least as a producer) that doesn’t fall into the usual trappings of mumblecore dialogue and over long run times.  Written by and starring Kumail Nanjiani, The Big Sick is actually charming, funny, heart breaking and sweet.  Based on his own real life experiences, the authenticity seeps through the film and gives you a cat of characters you fall in love with.

Best Bit: The end

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Trainwreck is funny.  Really funny. Whether you like it or not however will depend on two things.  1 – if you film Schumer and her style funny. 2- if you can cope with Judd Apatatatatataow’s ridiculously patchy style of film making.  Because if the answer to either or both is no, I’d avoid this as for every standout moment there’s a Apatatatatataow signature dip or sequence that could be shorter.  It;s a shame was nearly everyone of his films he’s involved with could be excellent, where as they just end up mostly okay or fine.

Best Bit: Schumer delivers
