Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Screwed is an above Average low budget prison drama that manages to get good performances out of it’s talented cast and mostly avoid the standard tropes of the prison movie.  It’s not perfect (it’s ambition out strips it’s budget at times) but there’s a lot to enjoy here, not least a pre Mr Jarvis/ Agent carter James D’Arcy and some solid direction from Reg Traviss.

Best Bit: Noel Clarke is chilling

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Brotherhood is the third in Clark’s Hood trilogy.  After a near 8 year break from the release of Adulthood, we once again follow the story of Sam and see how earlier life choices still haunt him years on.  It’s smart move by Clark to add a final chapter to this story as he gets to reflect back on the choices the younger Sam made and how they still impact years ago.  Overall the film works but it’s uneasy tone lets it down – whether Clark was going for comedy or not it sits uneasy against the harder urban edge.  Great support cast (Maza especially) and a strong soundtrack round of the film.

Best Bit: Sam visits the house
