Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The Soska Sistser’s remake of David Cronenberg’s Rabid doesn’t really add much to what is regarded as somewhat of a genre classic.  It’s not bad – in fact it has a few decent gore moments – but in its desire to pay homage to the legendary film and director it fails tread it’s own path.  Sadly the Soska Sister’s have yet to wow me and, like a lot of modern horror, Rabid (2019) needed to dial it up to 11.  So terrible… no? Essential… not even close.

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The Perfection arrives on the back of a run of less than well received Netflix originals.  Velvet Buzzsaw, Rim Of The World and many others have fallen short but critically and with the subscribers.  Whilst The Perfection may not be every one’s cup of tea, I actually enjoyed the hell out of this tightly constructed, nutty and often boundary pushing horror.  Taking hints from Argento and Cronenberg, The Perfection crafts a tight and well performed narrative that makes you believe the twists and turns that follow.  Original? No. Fun.  Certainly.
