Blog: Hyena – A Quick Capsule Review

Quick Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Feeling like a cross between 90’s thriller Face and last years Under The Skin, Hyena will not be to everyone’s taste.  A dirty, gritty, oppressive corrupt cop crime thriller  with a stunning central performance by Ferdinando, Hyena is a classy affair managing to mix both traditional crime thriller cliches with a very modern vérité style that marks it out from the string of much lower budget classless affairs.  Okay it’s not perfect – there are few characters you care about and by the time the end happens you’ll either be proclaiming it’s genius or throwing your remote at the screen (I was VERY much the later option).  BUT Hyena is commanding stuff and well worth a watch.

Best Bit: Peter Ferdinando gives a career best performance
