Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The How To Train Your Dragon franchise holds a special place in my heart, having watched ( and very much enjoyed) the films and TV show with my daughter.   This final episode of the series is an emotional, funny and action packed send off that ties up the story nicely but leaves still you wanting (wishing) for more.  Add to that some stunning animation, a great voice cast (thankfully minus the rather unlikeable TJ Miller) and a pacy script… and, well, this really is mainstream animated cinema at it’s most enjoyable. A worthy three-qual.

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Rise Of The Guardians is a really good film.  It’s full of adventure, humour and epic set pieces with a strong central morality that makes it stand out from the many similar films that are out there.  Also my 7 year old loved it which is usually a good sign that a film has hit the mark.  The characters are well drawn (both in a character sense and a artistic sense) and the film leaves you with a warm feeling by the end.  Great for kids and adults alike.

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Trolls isn’t a bad film.  At times it’s actually really funny. But then we get a Troll’s version of a pop hit you’d rather never listen to, surrounded by glitter and pooping cup cakes and you realise that, under the shine, there really is zero depth to this film. This said my 6 year old LOVED it so whilst it doesn’t land for the parents the target audience is well serviced.

Best Bit: Anna Kendrick and the voice cast
