Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The third Pelham film, and Tony Scott’s fourth paring with Denzel, will probably be a turn off for any fans of the original Pelham classic. That said as a film in its own right , 123 version 2009 is brilliantly entertaining, never boring me for a second with great central performances and Scott back on top form with his super kinetic style suiting the time bound narrative. It’s sad to think that since this film we have lost Scott himself, Gandolfini and, for the third time, Travolta’s career resurgence. Well worth a rewatch.
Best Bit:Denzel/Travolta banter
