True Lies (1994) – A Rewatched Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
True Lies is a great action film but yet, oddly, it’s hardly ever part of the narrative when people reflect back on the decade. Which is odd because overall it remains as one of the 90’s best action films and probably one of Arnie’s better performances.  From the audacious and simply ridiculous motorbike/horse chase to a finale that includes a harrier rescue, this is Cameron at his best and probably, for me at least, his last great film.  Also special note has to go to Bill Paxton who is just simply superb here in his sleazy car dealer come faux secret agent role.  The film does have a few questionable moments that are very much of their time but overall it holds up well and still kicks the arse of most modern action films.

Best Bit: The horse/bike chase is a classic Cameron action scene

Worth A Rewatch: For sure.  Remains one of Camerons best

If You Liked this Try: Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Aliens, Predator
