Scream Queens (Season 1) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
If you have ever watched a Ryan Murphy/Brad Falchuk TV show then you will probably get a good idea of what you will be getting with Scream Queens – a campy horror-comedy TV show dipped deep in a rich vein of movie folk lore and cliches.   Yup Scream Queens is part Glee part American Horror Story (but the better parts of both), a entertaining romp that just about manages to stretch itself over 13 episodes when, in truth (and much like most of Murphy’s shows) this could have been a much tighter 7-10 episode run. This aside it’s a lot of fun – gore and shoofly, silly and camp with a great cast who are clearly enjoying themselves and willingness to play loosely with the established formats the genre offers. Perfect? No but still a lot of fun…

Best Bit: Curtis is a hoot

Binge, Watch, Skip: Watch

If You Liked this Try: American Horror Story (TV), Scream, Scream (TV), Glee (TV)
