Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) – A Rewatched Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
It may not be that well regarded in the grand scheme of action cinema and for sure it’s been over shadowed by the Fast franchise.  BUT Gone in 60 Seconds is still a super solid Jerry Bruckheimer produced action film that pairs the legendary producer with Nic Cage for a third time for a bunch of car led thrills and spills.  Add in a killer cast (as was usual with his 90’s and early 00’s action films) some fun action and a host of over the top characters and you had a formula that was tried and tested to the nth degree. Okay so Christopher Eccleston is pretty weak as the film principle bad guy and by this point the forumla, music and staging was starting to get a little over familiar BUT there’s still a hell of a lot to enjoy here.

Best Bit: One night. 50 cars.

Worth A Rewatch: Yes (Currently on Disney +)

If You Liked this Try: Bullitt, The Fast & The Furious, The Italian Job
