Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy (2020-21) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
If you were a fan of the 1980’s Generation 1 Transformers show you’ll get a lot from the fun but very uneven Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy.  Across its three parts – Siege, Earthrise and Kingdom you’ll see a host of familiar faces, all beautifully animated with a great voice cast and a host of stunning set pieces.  Eathrise is for sure the strongest part – it’s great seeing cybertron once again and the war that forced the Autobots to leave, with Kingdom being the less successful part introducing far too many characters and sub-plots for what should be a cleanish ending.  Where the series DOES work is that it doesn’t shy away from the darkness in the story and this grown up take is all the better for it.  So not essential BUT fans will get a lot form this well done series.

Best Bit: Earthrise

Binge, Watch, Skip: Watch

If You Liked this Try: Masters of the Universe: Revelation (TV), Transformers: The Movie, Bumblebee
