Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (Season 1) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is an odd beast.  A Netflix anime original, it looks superb – the CGI animation is genuinely impressive (in looks at least – movement is pretty clunky at times) but it’s choppy narrative, over stretched plot and inability to make the Resident Evil franchise exciting is almost criminal.  Worse than this it makes no sense at times – I thought at one point I’d missed a whole episode as the story jumped so dramatically – and ends up feeling like a series of cut scenes that, if they had been in a video game, you’d probably skip.  Which is a shame as there’s so much you can do with this franchise but this rushed Netflix anime just isn’t it.  One to skip.

Best Bit: The CGI animation is very impressive

Binge, Watch, Skip: Skip

If You Liked this Try: Resident Evil (2002), Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010), Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)
