Masters of the Universe: Revelation (Season 1, Part 1) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
So this one has been pretty controversial for some reason. Filmmaker Kevin Smith’s rebooting (well continuation) of 80’s cartoon He-Man and the Masters of the Universe should have been an open goal.  After all – it has a killer voice cast, a strong art style and, well Kevin Smith’s geeky playbook.  But what we got wasn’t a He-Man show… or at least the He-Man show many people wanted it to be.  Nope this is a very different beast that (mild spoiler alert) takes Adam/He-Man and Skeletor off  the board in episode 1 and instead focuses on a side character – Captain of the Royal Guard Teela.  A very unexpected turn indeed.  Naturally the hardcore fans revolted and review bombed the show on every possible platform. And probably didn’t watch it.  Because actually it’s REALLY good.  Smith brings a new and more modern take on the story and, across this short five episode run, delivers a thrilling, fun and highly enjoyable show helped by its exceptional voice cast. So avoid the BS online and try this yourself. It’s well worth it.

Best Bit: The voice cast.  So good.

Binge, Watch, Skip: Watch

If You Liked this Try: He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (TV), Masters of the Universe, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (TV)
