Loki (Season 1) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Loki is an odd beast.  It’s certainly not the TV show you expected.  Across its short run of six episodes, it bobs and weaves it’s narrative until it eventually ends up in what could be a Phase 4 defining moment.  But was the journey worth it?  Sometimes yes and sometimes no.  See the central conceit here around the time defending TVA never really fully rings true and whilst the cast are great, event’s that come later in the series (episode 5) give you a look at what a different version of this story could have been and it’s MUCH more fun.  That said the show does end of a high with a great final few moments that make for what could be a very exciting future for the MCU and once again Marvel prove that they don’t need to follow any playbook as they continue to make bold movies around their TV shows.  So not Marvel’s best for sure but still well worth a watch for what it brings to the future of the MCU.

Best Bit: Loki’s… all the Loki’s

Binge, Watch, Skip: Watch

If You Liked this Try: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (TV), WandaVision (TV), What If…? (TV)
