The Misfits (2021) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Let’s get this out the way right from the start – The Misfits is objectively terrible. Renny Harlin, the films Finnish film director, seems to be long past the days of delivering high quality action films, whilst star Pierce Brosnan is certainly ‘comfortable’ in the suave anti-hero role he’s played since back before his Bond days. YET… yet I didn’t hate The Misfits – in fact at times I kinda liked it – a breezy, forgettable and mostly harmless caper film that mixes elements of Fast & Furious and Oceans 11 (Sinatra version) on a slightly better than a TV budget.  In fact if you ever watched the British TV show Hustle… this feels like what a US remake would have felt like – a good cast, a solid director and a story that sticks about as long as the credits take to roll.  But if you are looking for depth or a slick high budget action heist movie… probably best to skip on to the next film.

Best Bit: The heist is fun

If You Liked this Try: Ocean’s Eleven, Oceans 11, Fast & Furious 5, Hustle (TV)
