The Expanse (Season 5) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Following up its fourth season (the first that was funded by Amazon Prime), The Expanse continues to defy expectations by once again telling a story that seems, on paper, only tangentially linked to last years epic ring gate saga.  But that’s kinda the thing with The Expanse… each season brings something new, different and fresh.   This time out the crew of the Rocinante are split up, a risk considering how key that dynamic haas been to the series. But whilst you long for them to be reunited, the distance allows character growth and unexpected narrative development leaving you pretty satisfied after the run of ten episodes concludes.  Maybe not my favourite season of The Expanse but still better than most shows on TV.
