Songbird (2020) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
So it was only a matter of time until a COVID themed film arrived and whilst the critical reaction in general would say “too soon” I actually didn’t mind this Michael Bay produced pandemic film.  In fact the film starts really well with some solid and believable world building in the light of a further and more deadly COVID strain. It’s a shame then that the film goes bit off the rails in the middle when Peter Stormare turns up seemingly intent on doing his best Gary Oldman in Leon impression.  It’s just so OTT considering the rest of the film is, mostly, pretty measured.  So whilst Songbird may be a bit soon for some, it’s by no way the terrible film many have said.  But equally this isn’t an invite for many more of these.

Best Bit: Good work building
