Pixie (2020) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Pixie isn’t a bad film.  In fact at times it’s charming, funny and perfectly twisty in the way that 90’s films that followed Pulp Fiction were.  And that’s kinda the problem because despite all this it doesn’t quite gel as a film – instead feeling like an episode of the TV show Brassic rather than a film in its own right whilst also feeling about 25 years out of it’s time.  But if you can put all that aside (and you probably should as none of us are watching films at the cinema these days) you won’t be bored – Olivia Cooke is great in the titular lead role and support from Colm Meaney and Alec Baldwin (to name but two) add great value across the films sub 90 minute run time.
