Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Dawn Of The Dead may not be the scariest of films 42 years on, but it still remains one of the most ground breaking and genre defining horror films ever made. Yup imagine a world without Dawn Of The Dead and you are imaging a world without Walking Dead, Zombies and 28 Days Laters. Oh for sure Night Of the Living Dead broke new ground but Dawn cemented it. Biting social commentary, gruesome visual effects and characters that you cared for (even if you didn’t like them). In fact Dawn Of The Dead (in it’s many forms) could well be more revenant now that ever. Preferred versions: Argento Cut (significantly different), Extended Mall Hours (fan cut), Remastered.
Best Bit: The bikers arrive
