WW84: Wonder Woman (2017) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
First the good news… Wonder Woman is the best DC super hero film of the modern past Dark Knight era.  So yes it’s MUCH better than Man Of Steel and delivers a more rounded story than BVSDOJ managed.  It also shows why Gadot was the right choice to play Dianna Prince, bring a real heart and soul to the film.  It’s the most Marvel of all the DC films and wouldn’t feel out of place next to Captain America and Thor.  Patty Jenkins delivers in the directors chair and for the most part delivers a film that avoids the trappings of other DC films.  Until the end… (and this is the bad news) when once again the film descends into a somewhat pointless CGI wank fest.  Albeit one that works better than BVSDOJ but it’s odd, almost feeling like Zack Snider took over for the last 20 or so mins with the film being set at night and full of pointless CGI and explosions.   So overall a step in the right director for DC.  Now let’s see what Justice League delivers…

Best Bit: Wonder Woman hits the battlefield…
