The Boys (Season 2)- A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The first season of The Boys showed promise but, for me, it didn’t quite find it’s potential.  So Season 2 didn’t start as a must watch for me.  But by the end of its brief eight episode run I was 100% convinced that The Boys is one of the best shows on TV right now.  From it’s numerous NSFW moments, pitch dark humour and brutal  violence through to its dismantling of super hero tropes and stories (whilst still being accessible unlike say Watchmen) The Boy’s has ended up being one of the most insanely fun shows if 2020. And that’s the year where we had Tiger King!   Season 2 expands the already stellar cast but still gives the regular team plenty of room to shine – not least Star as Homelander and Urban as Butcher. So if you want a superhero show that’s as far to the left of Marvel as you can get… The Boys is 100% for you.

Best Bit: Karl Urban’s no holds barred Butcher.
