RIP Sean Connery, one of cinemas most recognisable and enduring icons who passed away today (31st October 2020) , aged 90.
From defining THE most iconic cinematic character in James Bond to memorable appearances in films like Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade ( ‘Junior!”), The Rock, his Oscar winning turn in The Untouchables and his famed Scottish Russian in The Hunt For Red October… Connery has left behind an untouchable legacy.
As well as his Academy Award, Connery won two BAFTA Awards (including the BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. In 2004 The Sunday Herald as proclaimed him “The Greatest Living Scot” and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey crowned him as “Scotland’s Greatest Living National Treasure”. He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1989 and the “Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999.
But he will always be best remembered for his 7 appearances in some the best Bond films ever made.
