Hunters (2020) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The latest big budget Amazon Prime Original is a violent, sweary and sometimes confusing pulpy look at a world where former Nazi’s are tracked down and killed by a team of ‘hunters’ looking to avenge war crimes from the past.  It’s a very grindhouse take, loosely based on a true story (very loosely) in which often Al Pacino isn’t the showiest thing on screen.  It’s also pretty silly at times but actually with this premise you kinda need that.  Few sights are better than a nun with a rocket launcher. Okay so Jordan Peele produced show borders on insensitive at times, it’s overlong even at 10 episodes and sometimes you get lost but Hunters is another unique Amazon production that sits alongside The Boys as an interesting take on a well trod story.

Best Bit: Nun. Rocket launcher.

Buy, Stream, Avoid: Stream (Amazon Prime)

If You Liked this Try: The Boys, BlacKkKlansman, Watchmen
