Phil's Quick Capsule Review

Irresistible (2020) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Irresistible, which sees a Democratic strategist helps a retired veteran run for mayor in a small conservative Midwest town, may not be the funniest comedy of the year or most hard hitting political satire but it has a sly charm and likability (even with some very unlikeable characters) that keeps you engage right the way through to it’s surprising ending.  Anchored by a subtle performance by Steve Carell and smartly directed by Jon Stewart there’s a lot to like here, even if it’s mostly nothing new.

Best Bit: The ending.
