Defending Jacob (2020) – A Quick Capsule TV Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Defending Jacob is one of the new Apple TV+ launch titles, a star led courtroom crime drama with a few surprises in what is a pretty well trod narrative.  Captain America’s Chris Evans is good value for money but the series as whole feels a little spread out over it’s modest 8 episodes especially as revelations and twists are very few and far between.  However the ending wont be satisfactory for everyone and you get the feeling that Apple TV+ will probably eclipse this drama quite quickly.  Also knowing the books ending you cant help but feel Apple copped out a bit here.  So watchable for sure, good at times but not something you need to revisit.

Best Bit: The last episode
