Ocean’s 8 (2018) – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Ocean’s 8 isn’t a terrible film, it’s just never justifies WHY it needed to exist. I’ll try to avoid commenting on just how odd Sandra Bullock looks these days but in her role as Danny Ocean’s sister she fails to show any of the sparkle or charm that helped her launch the girl next door career that started with Speed.  And whilst Ocean’s 11 relied on the audience being conned almost as much as the mark, there’s none of that trickery or fun here.  The film is played pretty much straight and never really puts it’s leads in jeopardy. So a good cast wasted on a film that fails to be even half as good as the big brother that inspired it.

Best Bit: The toilet
