Phil’s Top 5… Mission: Impossible Films (Updated)

Each week Phil, from Phil’s Quick Capsule Review, takes a look at a different movie or TV related Top Five.  This time out: Mission Impossible Films (updated)

Close but no cigar: Mission: Impossible 2, Jack Reacher

5 – Mission: Impossible
DePalma’s reboot was great fun but a total mess with the story making little sense and some very odd acting choices by the cast.

4 – Mission: Impossible 3
JJ Abram’s Mission Impossible 3 was a damn good reboot after the not well received M:I2.  It throws in some great action, a top notch villain and some amazing action sequences.

3 – Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation
Cruise ups the stunts, up’s the Tom Cruise factor and basically delivers Mission: Impossible on speed. It’s great fun and very re-watchable.

2 – Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
Peak Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise delivering some insane stunts alongside a top notch cast.  The film is brilliantly ludicrous from start to finish and we thank it for it.

1 – Mission: Impossible – Fallout
Yup Fallout is (just) the new king of the hill – the effects, stunt work and story all combine to make the best Mission Impossible yet.  A must watch.
