Mission Impossible: Fallout (2018) – A Quick Capsule Review
Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
What happens when you combine off the chart ego, pure talent and top of it’s game film craft? Well you get this… Mission Impossible: Fallout or Mission Impossible: Tom Cruise Tries To Kill Himself. Story aside (it’s a functional and pretty linear story about the recovery of some plutonium) it’s the action and set pieces that you come to watch and man they are off the chart here. With a serious lack of notable CGI and an incredible devotion to the ‘real’, Fallout takes things to the next level so whilst there may not be cities being blown up or Superhero’s smacking down you know that every fall, trip and crash have a real heft and weight to them. It’s that combined with spirited performances and some tight direction that makes this one of the films of the year. In short it’s this summers first must see film. It’s also a living breathing reason WHY the Oscars should start recognising stunt performers.
Best Bit: The stunts. Holy moly.
