Tank Girl – A Classic Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Tank Girl is a hot mess.  And the film is pretty chaotic also.  Considered a flop in it’s day (it didn’t do good business and reviews were luke warm to say the least) I always held an odd affection for this slice of 90’s insanity.  Watching it again some 20+ years later it’s still a mess but a damn fun one.  Mixing animation comic cells, OTT performances, LSD induced imagination with a limited budget the film throws everything at the screen it can and thankfully, due to a mix of great character and a spirited performance by Lori Petty, it ‘s never less than fun.  Yes it’s flawed with a weak script and a studio pulling the film back but actually it’s well worth another look.

Best Bit: The musical number
