The Shawshank Redemption – A Classic Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
The Shawshank Redemption is hands down one of the best films of the modern film era and for sure one of the top 10 films ever made.  From it’s expert performances, sublime direction and a tight character led script, this is the benchmark in novella adaptations and without doubt the strongest adaptation of a Stephen King films to date.  Tim Robbins delivers one of the most sublime performances of his career and Morgan Freeman cements himself as having the best voice in Hollywood. It’s just simply amazing.  What’s even better is the story behind it: a commercial flop, the film become the ultimate cult hit.  This is what a 10/10 looks like.  A worthy addition to the Phil’s Quick Capsule Review Hall of Fame.
