Danny Collins – A Quick Capsule Review

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
Danny Collins is a surprisingly good film.  It has heart, soul and a cracking central performance by Al Pacino who, much like the films titular character, proves there’s still mileage left in the tank.  It also features the cutest kid since that “Human Head Weighs whatever” kid from Jerry Maguire.  Maybe because my expectations were set to low, but the film made he smile, passed Kermode’s six laugh test with ease and gave memorable roles to Garmer, Plummer and Bening. What more could you ask for?

Best Bit: The Kid. She’s awesome.
