Phil’s Top 5… Friday The 13th Films!

Each week Phil, from Phil’s Quick Capsule Review, takes a look at a different movie or TV related Top Five.  This time out: to celebrate this weeks Friday The 13th, I give you my top 5 Friday The 13th films!

Close but no cigar: Friday The 13th Part 5Friday The 13th Part 2

5 – Jason X
Jason X is what happens when a screenwriter gets drunk, pitches a really silly idea to another equally drunk studio executive and they say yes.  It’s Friday The 13th in space.  What’s not to love????

4 – Friday The 13th Part 6 Jason Lives
He’d been dead for years but Jason came back via the wonders of lightning (yes really) to stalk Tommy Jarvis and get revenge for the last time he killed him.  It makes no sense but returned the series to a high.

3 – Friday The 13th (2009)
One of the few remakes that easily stands alongside the originals (and in many cases transcends them), the remake delivered blood and gore in spectacular fashion!

2 – Friday The 13th (1980)
The original oddly holds up really well, despite the lack of Jason and the low budget.  Watch for Kevin Bacon getting hacked up.

1 – Freddy Vs Jason
Years on Freddy Vs Jason remains a series high point.  It’s silly for sure but when it kicks off it does so spectacularly and delivers the thrills that fans have wanted to see for years.
