Best Film of 2014: The Wolf Of Wall Street

Phil’s Quick Capsule Review:
You can debate the merits of The Wolf Of Wall Street’s characters all you want but as a film it’s almost peerless.  Scorsese returns to the crime genre (and that of ‘unlikeable’ leads) and delivers BIG time with a film that is funny, painful and visually stunning  that delivers stand out performances from both DiCaprio & Hall and a career launching performance from Margot Robbie.  This is Scorsese’s best film since the 90’s for sure.  It’s flashy, contemporary and biting, feeling even more current in the decade of global crashes and failing banks.  in short it’s ended up being one of my favourite films of the last decade.

Best Bit: Ludes.
